  We have never had a bad meal here, the food no matter what you order has always been excellent , staff are friendly and helpful . The ambience is relaxed and unhurried and the house white is a bargain and very drinkable by the litre. The steaks are particularly scrummy !in my top five of places to eat in York

  Great location and interesting building. Good selection of beer. Food can be hit and miss, some choices are very well made and nicely presented others seem to be dropped on the plate with the last of what they have, could be better
